Christmas Krampus
Coffee Details
Country: Costa Rica
Process: Anaerobic Fermentation
Varietals: Catuai, Caturra
MASL: 1,500-1,500
Cup profile: Cinnamon Bun, Orange, Green Apple
Weight: 200g or 1kg
This exceptional coffee from Costa Rica’s Tarrazú region is known for its high acidity, medium body and rich aroma. The cherries flower in April and May and are harvested between December and March when fully ripe. They are quickly pulped before undergoing around four days of fermentation in a large black tank, then sun-dried on raised beds. The coffee is produced at Hacienda Cafetalera, a farm acquired by Coope Tarrazú in 2013 from Sr. Tobias Umaña, a pioneer of the region’s coffee industry. Now serving as a demonstration farm, it provides a space to trial new processing methods, develop special coffee lots and train cooperative members. With its own wet mill and a strong focus on careful farming and processing, the farm helps ensure each lot receives the attention needed to produce high-quality coffee.
The Art
Winner of our Christmas label competition, artist @nvmillustration brings a dark folklore twist to our holiday release with his Krampus design. Rooted in Central European tradition, Krampus is the mythical beast of winter, known as the cheeky half-goat, half-demon counterpart to St. Nicholas. This intricate artwork adds a bold, festive story to your cup, making it a standout addition to our seasonal lineup.
