Coffee Details

  • Country: Colombia

  • Process: Washed

  • Varietals: Chiroso

  • MASL: 2,000 +

  • Cup profile: Dark Chocolate, Peach, Raisin

  • Weight: 200g or 1kg

Chiroso is a distinctive Colombian coffee variety celebrated for its floral aromatics, vibrant acidity and elegant, tea-like character. Grown in the high-altitude mountains of Urrao, Antioquia, the cool climate allows the cherries to mature slowly, developing complex sweetness and delicate flavours. Named after its unusually long, slender cherries, Chiroso was once thought to be a mutation of Caturra, but genetic research has linked it to rare Ethiopian landrace genetics. In the cup, crisp citric acidity brings freshness, balanced by a silky body and notes of sweet peach and dates, leading to a clean, smooth finish. Its reputation grew following Carmen Cecilia Montoya’s 2014 Cup of Excellence victory, helping establish Urrao as a source of exceptional specialty coffee. The producer, Luis, has played an important role in promoting the region’s distinctive varieties through his leadership, innovation and consistent focus on quality. His farm is also part of Colombia’s network of private civil-society nature reserves, reflecting his commitment to conservation and responsible coffee production.

The Art

A unique twin release of a Chiroso and Pink Bourbon brought to life by Jake and Josh, owners of Two of Hearts Tattoo Studio and coffee space. Sourced through our green coffee importer friend Santiago, these two Colombian lots share a unified visual narrative. Each bag features a floral motif interpreted through Jake and Josh’s distinct tattooing styles. A celebration of shared craftsmanship, local partnership, and great coffee under one roof.
